Quartet Diminshed- Deerand (Moon June Records MJR133)

Never heard of this project but what world class players are on this. It is a very laid back CD, with many of the compositions starting off with piano and then the horns, bass and other instruments enter in the picture and off they go to paint you some wonderful sound scapes.  Pretty fantastic stuff..   The group is: Soheil- Sax and Clarinet, Rouzbeh- Drums, Mazyar- Piano, Voice (not a lot), Ehsan- Guitar. They are joined by Tony Levin (upright bass on Mirrorside) and Chapman Stick on Allegro per il re. Markus reuter fills in the space with soundscapes and touch guitar  and some bass.   Cool stuff…  Mirrorside is probably my fave track…
