This is a site where I post reviews of CDs, DVDs, LPs, and concerts. I have been writing music reviews on and off since 1984. I ran a heavy metal fanzine from 1984-1988 called Metal Madness and have been a staff writer for Aural Innovations for many years. I have also contributed to Chrohinga Well (RIP), Bad Acid (RIP), Lowcut (RIP), Roadburn and a number of other zines as well. I recently moved to Portugal so please request the new address and do not send any music to Denmark anymore. Tak..

Hoofoot- Limb Phantom (Paura de Niente PDN003, 2025)
This is the 3rd album by the Malmö, Sweden based proggers. The album is one track in four movements. The opening one, starts a lot like 70s Miles Davis vibe and then takes a left turn to a totally different world of back and forth solos between guitar and synths while the drums, bass and congas keep the motion interesting and moving forward. There is this synth and guitar theme that gets repeated at certain intervals a long the way. Very cool piece and nice piano-synth solos. THe piece ends with a organ fade out.. Fig 2 starts more slowly with some horns and a laid back vibe. The tension has been released. The groove picks up pace 3/4 of the way thru and stays very piano-keyboard based. Flip the record over for Fig 3, starts up tempo with some funk vibes and more back and forth between the keys and the guitar. Flute on this one is nicely placed in the arrangement. Fig 4 brings back a theme we have heard before and starts with the bass and that theme before evolving. Very nice piano solo on this track. These guys write killer music. What can I say. Great dynamics, sound and playing.. Check it out..
