The Re-Stoned are slowly releasing all the stuff they have recorded
over the years. This album was recorded back in 2015 and only seeing the light
of day. It is the most laid back record the band has made. 5 tracks in total
and featuring a 6 piece band
(Ilya-Guitars, bass, synths, fx), Evgeniy- percussion, rain stick, Alexander-
Bass, Arkadiy- Synth, Sergey- Bass, and Alina- Flute. It starts with the mellow
floating track, Fractal Panorama, which features mainly guitar with some light
percussion, rain stick, spoken words. The focus is on the guitars though, which
guide you along. Mental Print for Free continues on with a very similar slow
glide, with a shimmer of rain stick, spacey synth but again, one rhythm guitar
and one lead to show you the way. It features some spacey synth at the end of
the track. A Companion from the Outside closes the side and the main guitar
line is has a bit more mysterious vibe. There are some nice synths sounds from
Akradiy on this track. Such nice guitar. Flip the record over for Two Astral
Projections, another slower one but with a different mood and acoustic guitar.
The percussion is mixed a bit more into this track as well. Very spacey guitar
at times. The Heather Carnival ends the record and features some beautiful flute from Alina. Very nice artwork and A3 poster comes with the LP as well.
This is a site where I post reviews of CDs, DVDs, LPs, and concerts. I have been writing music reviews on and off since 1984. I ran a heavy metal fanzine from 1984-1988 called Metal Madness and have been a staff writer for Aural Innovations for many years. I have also contributed to Chrohinga Well (RIP), Bad Acid (RIP), Lowcut (RIP), Roadburn and a number of other zines as well. I recently moved to Portugal so please request the new address and do not send any music to Denmark anymore. Tak..
