The Finnish group, Permanent Clear
Light are back with a new 7" EP featuring three new songs all taken from
their recording sessions for their next LP. It features 15 minutes of new
music, crammed onto a 33rpm 7" and starts off with the happy song,
Maurice, which reminds me a bit of very early Porcupine Tree. It has a long
spacey intro before the highly effected spken word like vocals. It is also a
bit funky in a weird way with the musical focus on the bass drums and synths
with quite little guitar. One in Five is
highly inspired by the MOVE and a shorter pop song. This Quiet Smiling Man
closes the EP with a slower track with some mellotron and a quite dark lyric
about Robert Oppenheimer. Beautiful Doors inspired organ towards the end of the
track. Not as rocking as usual but some great songs. You can read more about this
